My Five-Year Plan, a documentary film about three young women navigating life in China from 2016 to 2023, has been acquired for global distribution by Scorpion TV.

Produced by Vilda Bomben Film and directed by Karin Wegsjö, the film had its world premiere at the Göteborg Film Festival in January and is being released theatrically in Sweden this September, with deals already closed with SVT in Sweden and YLE in Finland.

David Cornwall, managing director of Scorpion TV, commented: “This is the kind of film that puts a human face to macro-level shifts happening around the world. Through the lives of Amber, Jingya and Tingting, viewers get an incredibly powerful, personal look into what it means to be a young woman in a world of growing pressures and shifting ideals.”

Scorpion TV also announced deals on several other titles on its slate. Oppenheimer: After Trinity, produced by First Light Productions, has been acquired by Deutsche Welle (Germany), SBS (Australia), Proximus (Belgium) and LTV (Latvia). Jazz UK: Spitting Fire was acquired by Sky (New Zealand). ORF in Austria opted for The World’s Biggest Family from Big Family Productions. VGTV (Norway) opted for Theaters of War, Against All Enemies and Designer Shit. Scorpion TV also licensed the kids’ adventure series Siyaya: Come Wild With Us to Happy Kids and Can Hypnosis Fix Your Life? to Gaia. Planete Poland licensed two science-themed documentaries, and Stellar acquired three films for Air India.
