Animotion Media Group has expanded its kids’ IP portfolio with Shooting Stars, a girl-first adventure comedy that combines sports with sci-fi.

The series, targeted to girls ages 8 to 12, centers on five high schoolers united by their passion for soccer. They are launched into a new reality when a meteor crashes on the field and gives them extraordinary powers tailored to their personalities.

Their love for soccer transforms into a quest to protect their world from monsters and hold onto their identities as young athletes.

While balancing school, friendship and their new heroic lives, the five of them confront insecurity, prejudice, school pressure and self-discovery. Ultimately, the show aims to break barriers in sports, media and culture and challenge norms and stereotypes.

Shooting Stars is about more than superpowers and soccer goals—it’s about strength, resilience and identity,” said Julia Nikolaeva, a producer and general manager at Animotion. “We wanted to make a show that feels really for today’s Gen Alpha—a world where girls can be everything: athletes, dreamers, leaders, heroes. With Shooting Stars, we’re holding a mirror up to girls and saying, ‘You can powerful just as you are.'”
